Princeton SCORE Announces Small Business Recovery Workshop for New Jersey Businesses Affected by Hurricane Sandy

Carmen Morris, Princeton SCORE president, announced a Small Business Recovery Workshop for New Jersey businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy. The workshop will focus on securing recovery funds as well as on disaster preparedness planning, small business financials, and internet marketing strategies.

( -- August 3, 2013)Princeton, NJ -- Offered in partnership with the Sayreville Public Library, this free workshop will take place on August 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The library is located at 1050 Washington Road in Parlin, NJ. Registration is online at Early registration is encouraged.

“This workshop is for all businesses who want to know how to better prepare for storms and other disasters,” said Morris. “We will share our expertise and help businesses with ongoing issues related to the storm, including securing recovery money.”

Princeton SCORE mentors will also be available following the workshop to provide no-cost consultation. Princeton SCORE is a non-profit resource partner of the Small Business Administration. The Princeton chapter is part of an organization of over 13,000 volunteers with 348 chapters nationwide.

SCORE volunteers are real-world professionals, both actively working and retired, with time-tested knowledge representing over 3,000 years of experience across 62 industries. Volunteers are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, human resources, technology, international trade, import/export, business law (including business formation), operations, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, production, sales, marketing, management, business plan development, and many more.

The Princeton SCORE chapter provides free and confidential business counseling, coaching, and mentoring to meet the needs of small businesses and personal objectives. They provide business assistance to both prospective and existing entrepreneurs across Mercer and Middlesex counties in New Jersey. The Princeton chapter also provides free or low-cost local workshops and events throughout our service area to educate and connect small business owners with the people, information and resources they need to start, grow and fund their business venture.
